KubeCon 2022 Review
Last week was KubeCon North America and I'll cut straight to the chase... it was brilliant. People were back, the place was buzzing, and there's some game-changing stuff starting to happen in cloud native.
For me, I'm seeing two game-changing trends:
WebAssembly
eBPF
While I was at KubeCon, I attended Cloud Native WebAssembly Day and some WebAssembly meet-ups. I also met with a bunch of WebAssembly people and companies. And while it's all very exciting, it's also very early.
For example, almost all of the content and conversations are... errr... deep. In fact, I'd be surprised if I understood more than 5% of the content at WebAssembly Day!
That all said, I fully expect WebAssembly to be the third wave of cloud computing and I'm getting on-board early. I suggest you take a look yourself and consider getting on-board as well (I'll save you a seat).
To help with on-boarding to WebAssembly I've published the first in a planned series of blog posts. Stay tuned for more.

I'm always looking for the next thing - the next technology game changer. The problem is... game changing technologies are rare. Think; virtualisation...
eBPF is the other trend I'm seeing. However, it's a bit too low-level to grab too much of my interest. But I did snag a signed copy of Liz Rice's excellent short book "What is eBPF?".
That's all for now. Stay safe, and watch this space for a ton of content on WebAssembly, including a video course that'll blow your mind.
